Authorities in Texas are searching for a man accused of attacking a fellow driver with a machete.

The alleged road rage attack happened around 12 p.m. Monday, June 24, in New Braunfels, about a 35-mile drive northwest from San Antonio, according to the New Braunfels Police Department.

Officers said a 55-year-old-man was involved in a “rolling disturbance” with an “older” man when they both exited their vehicles. The unidentified suspect is accused of attacking the other man “with a machete-type knife,” slashing him in his upper body, police said.

The attacker fled in a four-door pickup truck described as being “light-colored,” according to police.

Police said the victim suffered serious injuries, but he was listed in stable condition at a hospital in Kyle.

“(Comal County) Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $4,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or grand jury indictment,” police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 830-620-8477.
