Texas accent one of sexiest when looking for a date. Really, y’all, so says recent study
A little Texas twang can go a long way in scoring a date, according to Sports betting site PennStakes.com. Its study found that Texans have the fourth sexiest accent in America.
You heard that right y’all.
The site conducted social listening research to rank the top 50 most attractive American accents. It found that Texans with a strong twang often drop their “G’s” and have one of the most recognizable and melodious tones — an accent made popular through Western movies.
To rank each state the site highlighted every mention of a specific accent in the past year by analyzing data that determined which accents were most common. The winning states were then determined by counting the number of times these mentions included phrases like “attractive,” “sexy,” and more.
The Texan accent was mentioned 42,330 times online. The Southern accent ranked No. 1 in the study, New York accent ranked at No. 2, Californian accent at 3, and Boston ranked No. 5.
The data was collected between February 2023 to February 2024.
