Doorways in Texas home for sale give off strong ‘Star Trek’ vibe. ‘Kinda funky’
It’s 2024 — no one wants your run-of-the-mill, basic doorways anymore, which is why this particular house for sale in Arlington, Texas, is drawing so much attention on social media.
Rectangles are out — hexagons are in.
“Truly One of a Kind...this home was custom designed and built,” the listing on Realtor.com says. “Only one owner and home has been well loved. Situated on Texas Ranger Golf Club Course with heavily treed space across the street...rare find.”
The three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house — which is listed for $500,000 — has a vintage appeal with dusty rose-colored carpeting, tons of space, large floor-to-ceiling windows and throw-back chandeliers spread out around the 3,962-square-foot house.
“Each bedroom has its own bathroom ensuite and walk in closet,” the listing details. “Huge game room upstairs with a large balcony off of it to enjoy the view of the golf course. This home is so spacious it could be an entertainer’s delight with all the space this home has to offer. Just needs updates, bring your design ideas and make this home your own.”
It’s the doorways that take center stage when it comes to Zillow Gone Wild, however. The Facebook page highlights unique homes for sale all around the globe, and people were both flummoxed — and intrigued — by the hexagon-shaped styling.
“Looks like grandma-inspired Star Trek,” one person joked.
“I NEED the story behind this.. this is like throwing out a half done puzzle without a solution,” another said.
“This house is so fancy and so outdated at the same time,” someone noted.
“Choices were made,” one person pointed out.
“Kinda funky.. change the carpet and wallpaper and it’s perfect,” another commented.
“Someone can answer what their favorite shape is with complete confidence,” someone said.
The house is currently listed as “contingent.”
Arlington is about a 15-mile drive east from Fort Worth.
