Book your next scenic getaway in Austin, one of the 10 best vacation cities for amazing views, a new report ahead of the holiday travel season says.
Window Gnome ranked 2023’s Best Vacation Cities for Amazing Views by comparing 455 of the biggest U.S. cities based on three categories: access, quality and cost. The home services provider looked at access to hotels with views on Expedia and accommodations tagged with amazing views on Airbnb. It also considered ratings and cost factors, among nine total metrics.
Austin received an overall score of 47.39 out of 100 points, with access ranked at 16th, quality at eighth and cost at 432nd.
While Austin was ranked the 10th best vacation city for amazing views, three Texas city ranked in the 10 worst vacation cities for amazing views. McKinney ranked as third worst, Beaumont as seventh and Conroe as 10th.
After Austin, Texans have several inexpensive escapes to visit — including lounging lakeside in Lewisville (No. 73), marveling Rio Grande vistas in McAllen (No. 33) and enjoying bayside bashes in Corpus Christi (No. 208).
McAllen received an overall score of 40.83, with access ranked at 215th, quality at 19th and cost at 24th. El Paso, No. 42 in the U.S., had a score of 39.72, with access ranked at 62nd, quality at 166th and cost at 91st.
