Family ski trip ends in death when Texas woman hits tree, Colorado officials say
A 58-year-old woman skiing with her friends and family died when she hit a tree, Colorado authorities reported.
The woman, from Texas, died after she fell and slid into a tree at about 9:45 a.m. Sunday, April 2, at Eldora Mountain Ski Resort, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Her friends and family called 911 while starting CPR, but she could not be revived, officials said. The accident happened on the ski resort’s Muleshoe run.
The Eldora Ski Patrol, firefighters, a helicopter and an ambulance assisted, the release said. An investigation into the accident continues, although no foul play is suspected.
The sheriff’s office did not release the woman’s name.
Eldora Mountain Ski Resort is about 20 miles west of Boulder, a city of 104,000 people about 30 miles northwest of Denver.
