Czech Stop bakery in West up and running after SUV crashes into store
It’s business as normal Tuesday at the Czech Stop bakery in West, Texas, in spite of the damage caused by an SUV that plowed into the building Monday evening, officials said.
The store portion will be closed for about two days for repairs, an employee told the Star-Telegram over the phone.
The West Fire Department posted photos of the accident on Facebook and said no one was injured and the damage looks worse than it is.
“The windows are boarded but Czech Stop bakery is open for business,” the post said.
Police told 25 News KXXV that the driver accidentally put the SUV in drive instead of reverse. There was no structural damage to the building, police said.
Photos show a white Toyota SUV surrounded by broken bricks, shards of glass and the remains of a damaged orange booth.
Czech Stop and the Little Czech Bakery is located right off exit 353 on Interstate 35. The bakery offers a variety of kolaches and sandwiches and is a popular destination for travelers.
The West Fire Department said on Facebook that they rarely “post about individual accidents, but this one is drawing a lot of attention.”
