Ground beef sold at H-E-B may have ‘mirror-like material’ in it, brand says in recall
Almost 94,000 pounds of ground beef products have been recalled as the meat may have been contaminated with a foreign “mirror-like material.”
The Hill Country Fare and H-E-B ground beef product recall was issued by Tyson Foods Inc., a supplier of the Texas grocery chain supplier, according to a Nov. 16 news release. The meat was produced at a facility in Amarillo.
The voluntary recall includes 5- and 10-pound chubs of HCF 73% ground beef, and 5-pound chubs of H-E-B 80% ground chuck, according to H-E-B. The meat was sold at H-E-B, Joe V’s, Mi Tienda and Central Market stores in Texas.
All affected products had a freeze-by date of Nov. 25, according to the release. Unsold products have been pulled from store shelves.
No injuries have been reported as of Nov. 16.
If you purchased any of the affected ground beef, you may return the meat to the store for a full refund.
