One couple got the surprise of a lifetime from a masked stranger when they were celebrating a birthday in Houston on Dec. 13.

Syndie Germaine was celebrating her birthday with her boyfriend, Tehran Stokes, when he decided to take a photo of her, KTRK reported. Coincidentally, a passerby walked up to the couple and kindly offered to take their photo together.

That photo of the couple went viral after being posted by none other than the “Goddess of Pop” herself — Cher.

The iconic singer revealed herself as the masked stranger when she tweeted that she came across the couple after going to see “West Side Story” in Houston. Cher posted the photo on Twitter, joking about her potential to be a “crazy woman.”

“Omg! That’s me, and it was my birthday! Wow! I can’t believe it,” Germaine replied to Cher’s tweet.

Some fans were incredulous that the couple didn’t recognize the “Believe” singer.

“You didn’t recognize her voice?” one user asked Germaine.

Germaine replied that Cher was wearing a mask and standing far away when she offered to take the photo.

Stokes got in on the fun, too.

“Wow! So we really did meet CHER! This night will certainly be remembered forever,” he replied to his girlfriend.

If only we could “turn back time,” Germaine joked.

Germaine told KTRK that Cher had some difficulty with her iPhone settings and neglected to AirDrop the photo to them in the moment. The couple didn’t see the photo until it went viral on Twitter the next day.

“What are the odds if by a couple of seconds we had stayed in the restaurant, we would have missed that opportunity,” Germaine said.

Cher had some final thoughts on the situation.

“See how adorable they are,” she replied to the post.
