One person was killed and three others injured in a shooting at an El Paso bar, authorities say.

The shooting happened around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at Headquarters Taphouse, a restaurant/bar across the street from the El Paso Police Department headquarters.

A man from Fort Bliss was pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were being treated at hospitals, a police spokesperson said. One of the victims injuries were considered life-threatening, KFOX reported.

The investigation revealed two women were escorted out of the bar after being involved in arguments and fights, police said. Fights continued in the parking lot, and people who were later shot attempted to break up the fights.

“An unknown male walked up and indiscriminately fired shots at the victims,” police said in a news release. “The shooter then ran to a car parked across the street at the public parking lot next to police headquarters and fled the scene.”

Besides the fatality, police said three men, ages 29, 27 and 22, were injured in the shooting.

No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.

The bar’s vicinity to the police department led to a quick and large presence from officers, KVIA reported. Witnesses told the TV station a dozen gunshots could be heard from the bar.

Headquarters Taphouse has not commented on the shooting on its social media pages.
