14-year-old impregnated during sexual assault outside a grade school, Texas cops say

A Texas man is accused of impregnating a 14-year-old girl he’s accused of sexually assaulting outside an elementary school, police say.

Jose Luis Gloria, 23, was charged with sexual assault of a child in San Antonio.

Gloria met the teenage girl through social media and arranged to meet her at an elementary school near her apartment complex in April 2019, police said. The girl said they had sex in his car and their communication ended after that, according to court documents.

When the girl found out she was pregnant, she met with a detective and provided her with “limited identifying information” of the man, according to court documents.

The detective identified Gloria as a suspect and obtained a search warrant for his DNA, police said. Gloria denied having sex with the girl.

After the baby was born on Dec. 29, the detective obtained DNA from the infant for comparison to Gloria’s sample. Lab results in late April showed that Gloria was “not excluded as the biological father of the child,” according to court documents.

Gloria was arrested on Wednesday.
