Rattlesnake meets its match and turns into a meal for bigger snake, Texas video shows

A Texas rattlensake met its match against a bigger snake during a battle caught on video in Texas.

Brent Jones captured the video while working at the Shady Trell Ranch in Jacksboro, a town about 60 miles northwest of Fort Worth. Jones opened a stall door to find the fight unfolding, he told McClatchy News.

The snakes were wrapped together with the coachwhip holding down the rattlesnake’s head in order to begin eating it, Jones said.

Here’s a photo near the near the end of the meal.

Jones estimated the coachwhip was about 5 1/2 feet long while the rattlesnake was 3 1/2 feet in length.

It took about 45 minutes for the coachwhip to eat the rattlesnake, he said.

“It was definitely a crazy sight to witness,” Jones said.
