Here’s where Vegas odds put Democratic candidates ahead of the Texas primary

Bookmakers setting odds on the Super Tuesday primary in Texas say Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont is the favorite to win the state as Democrats go to the polls to pick a nominee for president.

Polls show Sanders ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden in the race with 29% to about 24%, according to poll tracking site FiveThirtyEight.

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is trailing the polls in Texas with about 17%, while Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren comes in fourth with 12.6%, FiveThirtyEight reports.

Texas voters go to the polls Tuesday with 13 other states.

Bookies taking bets on who will win Texas agree that the safe money is on Sanders. Betting site BetOnline gives Sanders odds of -350, with Biden at +200 and Bloomberg at +1,600.

Those odds mean that a $100 bet would return $200 on Biden or $1,600 on Bloomberg.

Popular gambling site Bovada also puts Sanders as the front-runner for the Texas primary with -220. The odds for Biden are set at +180 and for Bloomberg at +10,000 with Bovada.

The site Bookies.com, sharing Super Tuesday betting lines from British gambling site 888sports, said, “Sanders can pick up another serious chunk of delegates here with 228 on the table. But Clinton beat him badly here in 2016 and the door is open for Biden to pick up another huge state.”

888sports puts Sanders ahead with -240, Biden at +150 and Bloomberg at +1,200.

A third of all delegates in the Democratic primary will be awarded in the Super Tuesday elections March 3. California has the biggest share with 415 up for grabs.
