One man was killed when the single-engine plane he was flying crashed in Parker County on Friday afternoon.

The pilot of the Piper PA32 plane crashed under unknown circumstances shortly after 4 p.m. near Poolville, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman.

The pilot was the only person in the plane when it crashed into trees in the 1100 block of Hodgkins Road, County Public Information Officer Joel Kertok said.

The pilot has not been identified, Kertok said.

Kertok said they received a 911 call at 4:09 p.m. reporting the plane crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board will be leading the investigation into the crash with assistance from the FAA, the FAA spokesman said.
