How you can help the Sutherland Springs victims and their families
Families of mass shooting victims from across the country have launched a GoFundMe page in support of those affected by the Sutherland Springs church shooting.
“We believe that your donation should go where you want it to: Directly to victims,” Anita Busch, whose cousin was killed in the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting in 2012, wrote on the page. “We have fought for years to make sure this has happened for victims of previous mass shootings and terrorist attacks.”
The page, which was formed Wednesday, had raised more than $1,000 in two hours.
A GoFundMe page created earlier in the week had raised more than $90,000 for the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs by Wednesday afternoon.
Twenty-six people, including an unborn baby, died in the shooting on Sunday at First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, about an hour southeast of San Antonio.
Vice President Mike Pence visited the church on Wednesday. Pence was also scheduled to attend a vigil in nearby Floresville on Wednesday night.
