Northwest ISD trustee resigns facing child pornography charge
Trophy Club police arrested Mel Alan Fuller on suspicion of possession of child pornography Tuesday.
Fuller, who resigned his position with the Northwest Independent School District on Tuesday, was released from jail the same day after posting a $25,000 bond, according to Denton County Jail records.
Fuller has been on the school board since 2008, according to a WFAA story.
While school districts are prohibited from suspending or removing board members, they can be replaced if they resign, if they are convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor official misconduct, the WFAA story said.
The school board is working on a plan to fill the vacancy, according to reporting by WFAA.
