Killeen toddler dies from gunshot wound following argument between relatives

A 2-year-old boy who was shot during an altercation between two family members has died, KCEN reports.

A preliminary investigation from police showed two female family members got into an argument Saturday afternoon, and one fired a round from a handgun, according to a press release. The 2-year-old boy was shot and taken by his mother to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, and then transferred to a hospital in Temple.

He was pronounced dead at 4:53 p.m.

The police department is still investigating.

Closer to home, a 10-year-old girl was shot in the face Saturday in the 4300 block of East Berry Street in Fort Worth. The wound is not believed to be life-threatening.
