Reward raised to $50,000 in Missy Bevers murder case

The reward for information leading to an arrest in the death of a Midlothian fitness instructor has been raised to $50,000, police announced Thursday.

The Midlothian Police Department received two anonymous donations of $15,000 to the reward fund.

Missy Bevers, 45, was found dead April 18 inside Creekside Church of Christ, off U.S. 287.

When officers arrived, they found “lots of broken glass” on the floor around Bevers and “evidence of forced entry into the building, indicating a possibly burglary,” Capt. John Spann, a police spokesman, said at the time.

Bevers, a mother of three, was found dead “with obvious trauma,” Spann said.

Surveillance video later showed a person dressed in police gear in the church shortly before Bevers was killed, but no suspects have been named or arrested.
