It’s been lucky to live in North Texas this week.

A winning ticket for the $49 million Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday night was sold at a store in Balch Springs. And a woman in Richardson won a trip to Florida with a scratch-off.

The winning Mega Million numbers were 36-39-42-45-48 and Mega Ball 3. The winner chose the cash value option at the time of purchase, worth about $32.3 million.

The ticket holder hasn’t been identified.

Closer to home, Virginia Lawless won a trip to Florida valued at $35,000 earlier this week.

Lawless’ method is simple: You can find her most days picking up scraps of litter and discarded scratch-off tickets outside a Richardson convenience store, CBS11 reports.

She’ll then log those tickets for secondary drawings online.

“What you pay forward you get back times 10,” she told the station. “That’s my thoughts on it. It’s Karma. It’s all about Karma.”

“When I opened the list up, I started laughing,” Lawless told the station. “And my brother’s like, ‘What’s so funny?’ I’m like, ‘You’re not going to believe this.’ … I said, ‘I won the grand prize on Pitbull.’”

Her efforts have paid off before. She won an $11,000 trip to California in June.
