Over 10,000 benches recalled. Legs have broken on some, causing bruises and injuries

Sitting on a bench shouldn’t bring the pain. That’s why TJX recalled about 10,850 Haining Degao benches sold at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls.

As stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall alert, “The legs can break or detach from the recalled bench when a consumer is seated on the bench, posing a fall hazard.”

The alert says TJX knows about that basic malfunction happening 21 times “when a consumer was seated on a bench at a store, including 17 reports of injuries involving bruises, scratches and back strains.”

This involves 42-inch wide, 17 1/2 inches high benches with cushion tops in cream, gray, navy, white and yellow. They were sold in the aforementioned chain stores from December 2021 through this past March for $130.
