Popcorn, mini rice cakes recalled after a possibly ‘serious or life-threatening’ error
Drizzled mini rice cakes and popcorn — with the brand name “Drizzilicious” — were recalled nationwide Wednesday from brick-and-mortar and online stores for a supplier problem that created a food allergy danger.
“This voluntary recall was initiated as of the result of a recall that was initiated by one of our ingredient suppliers,” Snack Innovations explained in its FDA-posted recall notice. “Our supplier notified us that they discovered undeclared peanut residue in one of the sub-ingredients used in the process of making our products.”
No problem for most people, but as the recall notice says, “people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”
