After one consumer burned and another saw flames, 4,200 heated blankets are recalled

A heated blanket should warm you, not burn you or set anything on fire. That’s why MWA recalled 4,200 LUXE+WILLOW L& W Bio heated blankets.

The exact problem, as stated in a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice: “The blanket can overheat if left plugged in and powered on for an extended period of time, posing fire and burn hazards.”

Among the three reports of overheating blankets that MWA has received, the notice said, there was one person’s wrist got burned and another person “reported seeing flames.”

This involves 50 inch by 50 inch white polyester blankets with Sherpa lining that were sold at several retail stores, including T.J. Maxx and Urban Outfitters.

MWA is eating the cost and offering a full refund or a $50 voucher toward another LUXE+WILLOW product. To get this refund, unplug the blanket, cut the cord, take a photo of the cut cord and blanket’s labeling and email support@luxewillow.com.

Then, throw the blanket in the trash.

If you have questions, call MWA at 855-459-3933, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Eastern time.
