The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Bud Kennedy is featured in a new CNN documentary, “Deep in the Pockets of Texas.”

The documentary takes a “deep dive into the forces influencing Texas politics,” according to a tweet from Senior National Correspondent Ed Lavandera. A CNN news release states it looks at “how a handful of influential billionaires steer the politics of school boards, city councils and the state legislature in Texas.”

A promo for the documentary shows Kennedy discussing the role of money in Texas politics.

“Money is what is pushing Texas to the far right,” Kennedy said in the clip.

Kennedy is a long-time Star-Telegram employee who writes columns about Texas politics and food. Kennedy said he was interviewed at Joe T. Garcia’s before the March primaries.

“I’ll be interested to see what they developed since then, and I’m as curious as anybody to see what it says,” Kennedy said.

“Deep in the Pockets of Texas” will be available soon on demand through CNN.go, CNN apps and cable operator platforms.\
