Former President George W. Bush is campaigning again. First stop: Fort Worth
Former President George W. Bush is hitting the campaign trail again.
Not for himself, obviously.
But for other Republicans.
On Wednesday, he was scheduled to be in Fort Worth for a private fundraiser for U.S. Rep. Will Hurd, R-Helotes, who faces Democrat Gina Ortiz Jones in the Nov. 6 midterm election.
Hurd’s campaign staff said the Fort Worth event was closed to the media.
Bush, who moved to Dallas after leaving the White House in 2009, is expected to travel out-of-state for other Republican congressional incumbents and candidates alike.
His goal is to help the party maintain a majority in both the House and Senate.
Bush also is expected to campaign later this month for U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Dallas.
