Elections for Fort Worth City Council are in May of odd-numbered years. If no one receives more than 50% of the vote, the top two vote-getters will head to a runoff on June 7. Nine of the 10 districts have contested elections. Alan Blaylock is running unopposed in District 10.
Early voting for the May 3 election runs from April 22-April 29.

Why do you want this job?: To continue the process we have began in 2021. Bring Jobs, Lower Tax Rate, Reduce Crime and to much more. We have brought 1500 new jobs to district 8 and approved over 2200 rooftop attainable & affordable housing.
If elected, what would your top 3 policy priorities be?: Bring Jobs, Bring Economic Development, Reduce Crime and Reduce Homelessness
What does it mean to be a successful council member?: Working for all our neighbors, being a great advocate for Distirct 8. Providing our district 8 with updates and keeping everyone engaged.
What are the biggest challenges facing District 8?: Our streets and road improvements, homelessness, and bringing good development back. I have already begin tackling these challenges by adding streets through our bond, approving work force housing with our local partners.
What are the biggest opportunities facing District 8?: With the jobs and homes coming to district 8 are bringing great opportunities for street, roads, side walk improvement. The $70. Million coming to Evans & Rosedale through Royal Capital will change the atmosphere in the community. The $70 million National Juneteenth Museum coming to the now Southside Community Center will be beacon of light.
What are the district’s biggest needs heading into the 2026 Bond, and how will you make sure they get addressed?: Streets, Streets, Streets. We’re currently working on providing more dollars to our street and transportation. If all goes well a couple community center will be improved through the 2026 Bond.
What role (if any) should the city play in addressing literacy struggles in the Fort Worth school district?: Continue to work with all of our schools. Volunteer at our local school to read to children who are struggling with their reading. Discuss with council how we can provide support to our school even if that been providing Additional through our CCPD and or other funds.
What concrete steps will you take to address affordable housing in Fort Worth?: I have taken these steps already by bringing over 2200 rooftops back to district supporting affordable housing. Work this city to provide funding gaps for affordable housing developers . Proposing a housing bond for our 2026 bond.
What are the most important qualities for the person who replaces outgoing Police Chief Neil Noakes?: Transparency, implement Citizen Police Oversight Board and continue to keep our city safe.
What else would you like to share with District 8 residents about your vision for the city that we haven’t asked?: We have accomplished so much together from housing, property tax, jobs and great economic growth. Together we have brought $418 Million worth of investment to District 8. Let’s continue to strive froward and grow together. District 8 is a place where you can live, work and raise your family.
