Want to vote early in Texas but don’t know where to go? How to find your polling place
The 2024 elections are approaching, and some voters may want to cast their ballots before November.
Early voting in Texas begins Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 1.
Here’s what you need to know about the process and deadlines, whether you vote early or on Election Day.
Where can I vote early in person?
Each county offers multiple locations for early voting. Tarrant County currently has 51 public voting sites, ranging from town halls and college campuses to community centers and libraries.
Visit your county’s website to learn more about when and where to vote.
What should I bring to the polls to vote?
Registered voters must present an acceptable form of identification at the polls. According to the Secretary of State, acceptable documents include:
Texas driver’s license
Texas election identification certificate
Texas personal identification card
Texas handgun license
U.S. military identification card containing the person’s photograph
U.S. citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
U.S. passport (book or card)
Voters may submit an alternative form of identification by filling out a reasonable impediment declaration at the polls if unable to obtain one of the seven authorized forms. Alternative forms of identification can include a utility bill, original paycheck, bank statement, government check or voter registration certificate.
How do I know if I’m registered to vote?
A paper voter registration application must have been filled out and submitted to your local election office by Oct. 7.
Texas does not offer online voter registration, so you cannot submit the application online; it needs to be printed, signed, and mailed to the local election authority by the deadline
You can look up your voter registration record and verify that your information is correct using the Texas voter registration lookup tool. Go online to teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov.
