Who are your top three campaign contributors?
LPMcLennan chair, wife & friend
What is the most important distinction between you and your opponent?
I am not a politician and I have no agenda, no donors to impress, and no ulterior motives. If elected, I will represent the people, not corporations.
What are the three biggest issues in this race?
Prosperity for the people: eliminatepropertytax.com has an expanded break-down of my economic plan, expand mental health accessibility (rural, etc.) by offering government incentives to private enterprise, non-profits, and charities, and reach out to inform and enable qualified citizens to vote in elections (all politics is local).
Would you support a state ban on transgender treatments for those younger than 18? Which medical procedures or treatments and why? How should a ban be enforced?
Government needs to stay out of personal lives. No ban, however parents/minors should be fully educated in these life altering procedure.
Should Texas change its abortion law to make exceptions for rape and/or incest? At what point in a pregnancy should abortion be barred, if at all?
Government should stay out of personal life decisions. Abortion decisions should be between the woman, her doctor, and her conscience/God.
Huge numbers of Texas schoolchildren are lagging behind grade level in reading, math and other basic skills. What can the state do about that? What specific policies do you support to improve achievement in as many Texas schools as possible?
I believe the curriculum needs to be overhauled to include life skills and self-esteem classes. Teachers need more freedom to creatively teach the lagging students. I think teachers are under-rated and under-appreciated. Allow the students to learn at their own pace. Don’t force them.
The state has a huge budget surplus in the coming years. How should that be used? How much would you allocate to property tax cuts, bolstering education and improving pay and benefits for teachers? What other priorities should the Legislature should consider?
EliminatePropertyTax.com covers legislation that I will propose, immediately, upon my election. This removes 60+ current taxes and replaces with revenue from 7% consumption tax. I will further propose a constitution amendment to allow casinos to operate in Texas and the revenues will replace some, if not all of the 7% tax. The surplus should be utilized in the most efficient way to the benefit of as many Texans as possible.
Do you support Medicaid expansion? If not, what changes would you like to see in the health care system to make care more affordable and accessible?
No. I propose government incentives to private enterprises, non-profits, and charities and allow free market competition to get the best value for Texans. These incentives also include operating in under-served rural areas.
Should Texas declare an invasion and attempt to enforce federal immigration law?
If Texas declares an invasion, Texas should enforce Texas immigration laws. Nothing Federal about this.
What gun policy changes would you vote for, and/or how should Texas continue its efforts to make schools safer?
Gun policies are never the problem. The perpetrators don’t follow policies. Texas schools could be made safer with school Marshals on campus. I also think teachers and other school Personnel should be allowed to carry guns, provided that they have proper training and can demonstrate the necessary skills.
