Incumbent David Lowe wins Republican primary for House District 91
Republican incumbent Texas Rep. David Lowe has declared victory in the race for the GOP nomination for state House District 91.
Lowe won 63.92% of the vote to challenger Kyle Morris’s 36.08%.
Lowe faces Democrat Yisak Worku in the Nov. 3 election.
House District 91 is in Tarrant County, and covers North Richland Hills, Haltom City and Watauga. Nearly 188,000 people live in the district, according to state data.
On his website, Lowe said his priorities include eliminating property taxes.
“You should never be forced to rent your property from the government,” he wrote on his website.
His other priorities include securing the border, election integrity, abolishing abortion, banning vaccine mandates, supporting Second Amendment rights and banning red flag laws, and protecting children from sex offenders.
Morris, 45, is a business owner running for office for the first time.
One of Morris’ top priorities is supporting first responders in the fight against human trafficking after his own daughter was kidnapped and trafficked in 2022. Morris’ daughter was missing for 10 days before she was found.
“One reason I am running is to fix this broken system and protect children,” Morris said on his website.
Another top priority for Morris is lowering property taxes, he said.
The term length for the seat is two years.
