Cheryl Bean wins Republican primary in Arlington area House District 94

Cheryl Bean, a business owner, won the Republican primary for the Texas House in District 94, according to unofficial results.

Bean won 53.77% of the vote, with Jackie Schlegel, director of Texans for Medical Freedom, at 25% and Susan Valliant at 9.69%.

In the Democratic primary, Katie O’Brein Duzan, vice president of marketing at Veeva Systems and TCU alumna, is running uncontested. She will face the winner of the Republican primary during the general election in November.

Texas House District 94 includes Hurst and parts of east Arlington.

Since 2015, the Texas state House District 94 seat has been held by Republican Rep. Tony Tinderholt. He is not seeking reelection after announcing his plan to run for Tarrant County commissioner.
