Keller Mayor Armin Mizani was won the Republican nomination for House District 93, according to unofficial results.

Mizani won 51.16% of the vote to former Texas and Tarrant GOP treasurer Fred Tate’s 43.33%, according to unofficial results. Zee Wilcox, a small business owner who spent much of the last few months in a legal battle to add her name back on the ballot, had 3.51%.

In the Democratic primary, retired business executive Cate Brennan has 78.15% of the vote over fast food restaurant employee Aaron Hendley, who has just 21.85% of votes.

Nominees must secure at least 50% of their party’s primary vote to win the nomination and advance to November’s general election. If no candidate reaches that threshold, a runoff election will be triggered between the top two vote getters.

Since 2013, the Texas House District 98 seat has been held by Republican Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, who is not seeking reelection.

Mizani has been the city’s mayor for six years and served on Keller City Council for four years before that.
