As rumors swarm about glitches during early voting in Texas, some might wonder whether their vote will be counted.

But no need to worry. The Texas Secretary of State has made it incredibly simple to track your ballot and see if it was counted with a few quick clicks.

Early voting in Texas began Oct. 21 and ends Nov. 1. Tarrant County began on Oct. 24 and continues every day until Monday, Nov. 4.

How do I track my ballot?

Visit the Texas Secretary of State’s website here to check the status of your ballot-by-mail or mail-in ballot application.

For individual tracking purposes, you will need to complete key information, including your full name, the last four digits of your social security number, your driver’s license number, and date of birth.

Voters in Tarrant County can view their complete voting history by using the voter lookup tool. The tool also allows you to see if you’re registered to vote, ballot information, and if you’re near a polling place.

How do I know if my vote was counted?

Voter data is usually available online through the Texas Secretary of State website the day after a vote has been cast.

If you choose the “2024 November 5 General Election” heading from the drop-down menu on the website, you’ll be able to select the date you cast your vote under the heading “Early Voting Turnout by Date.”

Locate the county where you cast your ballot by scrolling down the list, then click the “Voter Details Report” link.

After that, a file containing a list of names will be downloaded. You may quickly locate your voting history by searching for your last name using the Control-F key.
