Here’s who’s won primary elections for constable in Tarrant County precincts

Michael Campbell defeated four opponents with 57.85% of the vote in Democratic primary for the Precinct 8 Tarrant County constable. There are no Republicans seeking the office, according to unofficial results.

Last week, Campbell, who has been the constable since 2012, mocked opponent Kenneth Sam’s disability on video, saying he “wobbles while he walks.”

Campbell denied making fun of Sam, who told the Star-Telegram that Campbell’s actions were “an attack on anyone with a disability.” Fellow candidate Roosevelt Masters was also present when Sam filmed the video and condemned Campbell’s actions. Masters was polling at 17% from early voting results.

On Tuesday night, Campbell declined to immediately comment on the early voting results. Sam said he was disappointed.

“It’s disappointing because of the way that Constable Campbell has conducted himself throughout his career in Tarrant County and Fort Worth,” Sam said “But the position is an elected position, unless someone votes you out, you are their man.”

Precinct 1

Republican incumbent Dale Clark won with 58.56% of the vote over opponent Calvin “Cal” Hudson (41.44%). The winner will face Scott Gerlikovski, the only Democratic candidate for the precinct.

Precinct 5

Democrat Pedro “Pete” Munoz won the Democratic primary with 47.69% of the vote, followed by John Wright at 18.94%, Ruben Garcia (17.76%) and Daniel Flores at 15.61% No Republican candidate was running.

Precinct 7

Sandra Lee (80.15%) defeated Charles Hatley (19.85%) in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Clint Burgess was the only Republican running.
