The most dutiful of citizens are off to get their fourth “I voted” sticker on Monday as early voting opens again in Tarrant County. If you’re confused on which ballot this one is, here’s your cheat sheet.

June 1 marks the beginning of early voting in Tarrant County for municipal runoff elections — the few local races in which no one candidate got more than half the votes.

The municipal election was on May 2, and only two races went into a runoff: Arlington City Council District 8 and Keller City Council Place 4.

Voters can cast their ballot at any of the eight early voting locations across the county June 1-9. Election Day is June 13. There will be 29 polling locations available to voters on Election Day. Tarrant County’s interactive map is available online for voters to find voting locations and up-to-date wait time estimates.

Arlington City Council

The Arlington seat has been held by Barbara Odom-Wesley since 2019. It is an at-large position, meaning the council member represents all of Arlington instead of a designated area. Voters will choose between Jason Shelton and Melody Fowler.

Shelton has served as chair on the city’s advisory task force, the Arlington Unity Council, for four years until June 2025. His campaign website is sheltonforarlington.com. Fowler has been elected three times to the Arlington school board. Voters can visit her campaign website at melodyforarlington.com.

Keller City Council

Keller’s open City Council seat was previously held by Tag Green, who resigned from the office to run for mayor. Keller City Council members are elected for three-year terms, but whoever is elected on June 13 will only serve the remaining two years of Green’s term. There will be another election for the at-large seat in May 2028.

The race is between Russ Medeiros and Jarrett “Doc” Armstrong. Medeiros is an Army Infantry Combat Veteran, Retired Coast Guard Officer and Keller business owner. Voters can visit his campaign website at russforkeller.com. Armstrong formerly served on the Keller school board and the city’s planning and zoning commission. His campaign website is armstrongforkeller.com.
