Tarrant County gave $200K to food pantries in November. Here’s where it went

As the government shutdown ended in mid-November, the Tarrant County Commissioners dedicated $200,000 to food banks.

Half of that went to the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the other half was divided equally between the five-person court to give out. Here’s where that money went.

Commissioner Roderick Miles, Precinct 1

Seven organizations received a portion of the $20,000 but the amount and name of each group was not disclosed.

Commissioner Alisa Simmons, Precinct 2

  • $5,000 to Seasons of Change in Arlington 
  • $5,000 to Broadway Baptist Church Food Pantry in Fort Worth
  • $2,500 to Bethlehem Baptist Church House of Bread Food Pantry in Mansfield
  • $2,500 to Community Food Bank in Fort Worth
  • $1,500 to Cornerstone Baptist Church Food Pantry Ministry in Arlington
  • $1,500 to Mount Olive Baptist Church Water from the Rock in Arlington
  • $1,000 to Carter Metropolitan CME Church CarterCares Food Pantry in Fort Worth
  • $1,000 to Community Frontline of Fort Worth in Fort Worth

Commissioner Matt Krause, Precinct 3

  • $10,000 to Community Enrichment Center in Fort Worth
  • $6,000 to 6Stones in Euless
  • $4,000 to GRACE in Grapevine

Commissioner Manny Ramirez, Precinct 4

  • $15,000 to Community Link in Saginaw
  • $5,000 to Boys and Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County in Fort Worth
