Tarrant County judge condemns commissioner over criticisms of election staff

The rivalry between two Tarrant County Commissioners Court members was on display during their Aug. 19 meeting.

Democratic Commissioner Alisa Simmons of Arlington called out Elections Administrator Clint Ludwig for “the games and the lack of transparency” surrounding the shortened list of voting sites for the November election.

In response, Republican County Judge Tim O’Hare told her that he “didn’t appreciate” her berating the county staff.

The court heard from dozens of county residents who, with one exception, opposed the removal of 20 early voting sites and 116 Election Day polling locations.

Four commissioners voted to add nine more locations to the early voting list before the list was approved in a 3-2 vote along party lines.
