The Tarrant Appraisal District front lobby will be open an hour earlier and an hour later until May 30 to give taxpayers more time to protest their property appraisals.

Property owners can use TAD’s online dashboard to review their appraisal details or compare this year’s appraised value to previous years. For those whose property value remained the same, the appraisal district mailed a postcard on April 15th to that effect.

If property owners believe the appraisal is incorrect, they have the right to protest. The deadline to file is May 15. The Tarrant Appraisal District recommends filing electronically using the dashboard. Those protesting can also file by mail or in person.

The front lobby hours are temporarily extended to opening at 7:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. until May 30, when the protest period ends. The office is at 2500 Handley-Ederville Road.

“The expanded lobby hours are intended to offer added flexibility for homeowners and residential properties needing to file protests or exemptions in person, especially before or after traditional work hours,” a press release from TAD said.

The appraisal district’s phone hours will stay on the standard 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. schedule. The office is available at 817- 284-0024.
