Tarrant County homeowners have seen their annual property tax bills jump since 2017.

While most of the school districts, cities and the county itself have lowered tax rates in the last five years, the prices of houses have exploded, resulting in higher tax bills.

We selected five properties in Tarrant County and calculated how much property tax bills have changed since 2017.

Fort Worth, Rosemont (built 1925)

  • Appraised value 2017: $36,427
  • Appraised value 2021: $112,500 (up 200%)
  • Tax bill 2017: $1,014.73
  • Tax bill 2021: $3,024.54 (up 198%)

North Richland Hills (built 1955)

  • Appraised value 2017: $117,457
  • Appraised value 2021: $165,250 (up 40.7%)
  • Tax bill 2017: $2,701.34
  • Tax bill 2021: $3,778.77 (up 39.8%)

Arlington (built 1980)

  • Appraised value 2017: $200,000
  • Appraised value 2021: $292,820 (up 46.4%)
  • Tax bill 2017: $5,233.92
  • Tax bill 2021: $7,508.49 (up 43.5%)

Crowley (built 2002)

  • Appraised value 2017: $298,192
  • Appraised value 2021: $406,192 (up 36.2%)
  • Tax bill 2017: $6,124.80
  • Tax bill 2021: $7,757.64 (up 26.66%)

Azle (built 2005)

  • Appraised value 2017: $378,647
  • Appraised value 2021: $412,698 (up 8.99%)
  • Tax bill 2017: $9,620.07
  • Tax bill 2021: $9,933.59 (up 3.26%)
