Tim O’Hare, a former Tarrant County Republican Party chair running for county judge, criticized the Biden Administration for launching a civil rights investigation of the Carroll school district.

Tim O’Hare, who is running for Tarrant County judge, blasted the federal government’s civil rights investigation of the Carroll school district, calling it government overreach.

“Joe Biden and the Democrats have no right to interfere in one of the highest performing school districts in Texas because our community chose to reject the brainwashing of our kids through Critical Race Theory teachings. I am proud to have founded Southlake Families to counter the onslaught of CRT and other liberal ideologies into schools by electing strong, conservative candidates to our School Board,” O’Hare said in an emailed statement to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Last week, the U.S. Department of Education Civil Rights division launched three investigations against the Carroll school district concerning complaints of racial and gender bias.

School officials and the Department of Education did not elaborate on details of the investigation.

Three years ago, videos surfaced of students chanting a racial slur which went viral. The school district and the community formed the District Diversity Council, which wrote a 34-page Cultural Competence Action Plan to address bullying and concerns over racism.

The plan, which was presented in draft form, caught the attention of parents and others who protested at board meetings saying the plan focused on enforcing “microaggressions” and did not uphold the conservative values their children learned at home.

The Southlake Families Political Action Committee was successful in getting three candidates elected to the school board this year.

“It is incomprehensible that the Department of Education is now targeting Carroll ISD in retribution for parents expressing their right to have a say in our children’s education,” O’Hare wrote.
