Vice President Mike Pence will visit Dallas for a freedom celebration

Vice President Mike Pence is heading to Dallas later this month.

On June 28, he is scheduled to visit the First Baptist Church, where Robert Jeffress — one of President Trump’s evangelical advisers — is the senior pastor.

Jeffress tweeted: “We are thrilled to welcome @VP @Mike_Pence as our guest speaker for ‘Celebrate Freedom Sunday’ at First Baptist Dallas, Sunday, June 28, at 10:45am CT!”

A note on the church’s website says there will be an “annual fireworks celebration, patriotic worship” and a “special message” from Pence.

Few other details are available yet about Pence’s visit to the 14,000-member church, other than that he will be back in Washington, D.C., by that evening.

The White House said the Celebrate Freedom event is “an annual celebration of America’s freedom and spiritual foundation.”
