Voter’s guide to Tarrant County and Fort Worth-area primary races on March 3
It’s time to head to the polls for the Democratic and Republican primaries.
Early voting runs runs from Feb. 18-28. Election Day is March 3. Texas, with its 261 delegates to offer Democratic presidential candidates, is considered the crown jewel of Super Tuesday.
But in addition to the presidential, U.S. Senate and U.S. House races, voters will also cast ballots in primary races for the Texas Legislature, the state Supreme Court and a number of county posts.
A large number of voters, perhaps even half of those who will turnout this primary season, are expected to head to the polls during early voting.
And election officials encourage voters to cast their ballots early if they can. Early voting runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 24-28.
The Star-Telegram sent questionnaires to candidates in contested races. Responses have been edited for clarity and length.
