Stabbed 16-year-old runs for help as intruder attacks mom, sister, AZ cops say
A 16-year-old girl rushed to get help after she was stabbed by an intruder in Arizona, police said.
Police responded to an apartment at about 4:30 a.m. Sept. 17, a spokesperson for the Mesa Police Department told McClatchy News by email.
A 22-year-old man had broken into the home and stabbed the teen as she was sleeping, police said.
She fled the apartment to call for help, and the man stabbed her mother and 18-year-old sister, police said.
They had woken up “during the commotion,” police said.
The three family members were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police later found and arrested Lowell Tucker Dorn on three counts of attempted murder and residential burglary.
“Although Dorn had very little contact with police previously, the Tempe Police Department had received several calls involving Dorn following the morning’s events,” police said.
Mesa is in the Phoenix metro area.
