A missing Missouri woman made a troubling phone call to family before vanishing weeks ago, police say.

Miranda Brown, 27, was last heard from on Monday, July 21, in a phone call to a family member, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said in an Aug. 8 news release.

Brown told the relative that an “unknown man” was following her, police said. The call ended, and when the family member called Brown back, a man answered and told the relative they had the wrong number, according to police.

“Miranda is known to frequent the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in the 4000-4400 blocks of Pennsylvania, Gasconade Park and the area of S. Broadway & Osceola,” police said. “Anyone with a tip about Miranda’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.”
