Therapist working with kids with autism accused of molesting infant, IN cops say
There may be more victims of an Indiana therapist accused of sexually molesting an infant, Indiana investigators said.
Alec Hegge, a 31-year-old registered behavior therapist, was arrested and charged with two counts of child molesting on July 24, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Fishers.
He worked with children with autism at Changing Lives Behavior Analysis in Anderson, investigators said. Hegge no longer workers for the facility, which police said is cooperating with the investigation.
McClatchy News reached out to Changing Lives Behavior Analysis but did not immediately receive a response.
The therapist told investigators he did not harm any patients because “there were too many safeguards in place,” officials said.
Hegge is held in Madison County Jail on two charges of child molestation without bond, according to jail records.
The task force asks anyone who worked with Hegge and believes their child is a victim to call Det. Chris Borgmann at 317-595-3467.
Anderson is about a 45-mile drive northeast from Indianapolis.
