Man rapes woman, then texts her about it, PA cops say. ‘I feel disgusting’
A Pennsylvania man is accused of raping a woman, then texting her afterward to say he feels bad about it, news outlets reported.
Elliot Matthew Nguyen, 24, was arrested June 19 on charges including rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault, the East Earl Township Police Department said in a June 24 news release.
The assault happened at the woman’s home on June 9, Pennlive.com reported.
She was folding laundry when Nguyen asked her for sex, and she told him they were separated and rejected his advances, the Daily Voice reported, citing court records.
Investigators say he started groping her, then overpowered and raped her, ignoring repeated pleas that he stop and attempts to fight him off, the outlet reported.
The next day, documents say Nguyen texted the woman saying “I feel disgusting … I literally did the worst possible thing I could’ve done to hurt you,” according to the outlet.
Another message read, “I don’t want it to feel like it’s your fault,” Pennlive.com reported.
The woman contacted police eight days after the assault, leading to Nguyen’s arrest, WPMT reported.
His bond was set at $100,000, and he posted bail and was released, according to police.
East Earl Township is a roughly 60-mile drive northwest from Philadelphia.
