Lottery player wins $1.5 million jackpot in Georgia. Where was ticket sold?

Someone in Georgia is holding a winning Fantasy 5 ticket worth more than $1.5 million.

The lucky player hit the jackpot, winning a whopping $1,501,742 in the drawing Friday, June 13, the Georgia Lottery’s website said.

The ticket, sold at a Carroll Food Mart in Villa Rica, matched all five numbers.

The winner had not come forward as of June 16, a lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News in an email.

The winning Fantasy 5 numbers on Friday were 1-21-26-29-40, results show. The odds of snagging the jackpot prize are 1 in 850,668, according to the lottery.

It was one of two big lottery wins for the Peach State. Another Fantasy 5 player capped off the weekend with a $125,000 jackpot win in the drawing Saturday, June 14, per the lottery’s website.

That winning ticket was purchased on the Georgia Lottery’s mobile app.

Winners in Georgia have 180 days to claim prizes on draw game and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, lottery officials said.

Villa Rica is about a 30-mile drive west from downtown Atlanta.
