A school para professional aide accused of possessing and distributing child pornography has been arrested, California police say.

Jaylee Brackman, 22, of Long Beach was booked into jail on a count of possession and distribution of child pornography Tuesday, June 3, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release.

Police said they discovered “her activity while investigating a separate child pornography case.”

Brackman worked as a para professional aide with the Long Beach Unified School District, police said.

A spokesperson for the district told the Long Beach Post that “Brackman was a contractor, not an employee of the district,” and started working at Hughes Middle School in January.

The district notified the outside agency of Brackman’s arrest, and her assignment with the district was ended, the spokesperson told the newspaper.

Brackman is being held without bail until her arraignment, police said.

Given Brackman’s “position of trust working with children who are disabled,” police said there may be additional victims, and anyone with information is asked to contact them at 213-280-1501.
