Dog’s family of 8 years didn’t take her in move. Now the snuggly pup needs a home
A dog in Philadelphia is looking for a new warm lap to snuggle in after her comfortable world was shattered.
Terri, a terrier mix pup with soulful eyes, may come off as shy at first, but that’s for a reason, the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said in a heart wrenching Facebook post.
“For eight years, Terri was part of a family. She had a home, a routine, and people she loved,” the shelter said in the May 13 post.
“But when that family had to move unexpectedly and couldn’t take her, Terri was returned to our shelter.
“After nearly a decade in a quiet home, the kennels were overwhelming. So we moved her into a foster home, thinking it would only be for a short time. Surely someone would step up for a dog as sweet and gentle as Terri.”
But Terri is still without her very own spot in the world.
“Her foster family says she’s one of the easiest and most loving dogs they’ve had. She’s house trained, crate trained, and loves to snuggle,” the shelter continued. “She’s calm, affectionate, and open to meeting kids and other dogs. She just wants someone to love again.”
Once Terri learns to trust, she becomes a beloved human’s “loyal shadow,” her pet profile says.
Terri is set to be returned to the shelter on May 17.
