A 38-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend has been charged, Maryland officials said.

On April 24, Prince George’s County officers responded to the home of Michael McClanahan and Sherron Turner, 44, to perform a welfare check, according to a news release by the police department.

Officers found Turner dead in the apartment, “wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete,” officials said.

The Medical Examiner’s Office determined her cause of death was blunt force trauma, officials said.

Officials didn’t specify what led to the crime.

McClanahan was charged with first- and second-degree murder and attempting to dispose of a body, officials said.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 301-516-2512, officials said.

Prince George’s County is about a 45-mile drive southwest of Baltimore.
