A poker player walked away from a Las Vegas casino with thousands of dollars, thanks to a lucky hand.

The gambler sat at a Texas Hold’em table at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, the casino said in an April 20 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Then the visitor ended up with a royal flush the rarest hand in the game — and won the $30,000 jackpot.

To get a royal flush, a player needs to get an ace, king, queen, jack and 10 all in the same suit.

The Gold Coast Hotel and Casino is just west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Someone else recently got lucky at a poker table in Las Vegas.

A Southern California resident was celebrating her wedding anniversary April 13 at The LINQ Hotel + Experience, McClatchy News reported.

She sat at a Three Card Poker table and won the $494,420 jackpot after getting a royal flush.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
