Man confronted while leaving Walmart bathroom stall and shot at, OK cops say
A person inside a Walmart bathroom noticed a man reach under his stall and grab his bag, then he walked out of the stall and came face-to-face with two men, Oklahoma police said.
One of the men started to fire shots his way in the bathroom, prompting a 911 call shortly before 11 p.m. April 1, Tulsa police said in a Facebook post.
The two men, identified as Ryon Williams and Justice Rogers, ran through the store and tried to leave through the main doors, but they were locked, police said.
The pair ran back into the store, according to police.
An off-duty deputy working as a security guard at Walmart heard gunshots in the store, then saw one of the men near the register with a pistol in hand, police said. The security guard shot at the suspect, police said.
Williams and Rogers split up, but made it out of the store through an emergency exit, according to police.
Williams was shot by the off-duty officer while running from the store and later dropped off at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his torso, according to police.
Rogers was found hiding under a bridge nearby and was arrested, authorities said.
Rogers was charged with shooting with intent to kill and larceny, police said. He also has several warrants in Washington County.
Williams was charged with shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent and larceny, police said.
