A lucky Virginia man was playing online lottery games to relax after doing yard work when he won a huge prize, lottery officials said.

Javon Robinson, from Mechanicsville, won a jackpot prize worth $787,893 in the Spellbound game, the Virginia Lottery said in a March 19 news release.

When Robinson saw his win, he immediately called his wife, he said.

“Is this real?” Robinson’s wife asked him.

“It was a surreal and insane moment,” Robinson told lottery officials while claiming his prize.

Robinson’s only plans for his winnings at this point involve paying bills, lottery officials said.

The odds of winning the Spellbound game — which began Feb. 25 — are 1 in 3.91, the lottery said. The odds of winning the jackpot vary by ticket price.

The estimated jackpot as of March 20 is more than $146,400, according to the lottery.

Mechanicsville is about a 5-mile drive northeast from Richmond.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
